Custody Battle
eleven years old
blond stringy hair
sitting on an overstuffed chair
her skinny legs could not reach the floor
her swollen teary eyes
a trembling high voice
stating that she would
never see her father again
he had told her he was
going to see Pop Pop
she stated
Pop Pop is dead
this child
conceived in love
was destroyed by lies.

Biographical Note: John
Prodoehl, Esq., is a solo practioner attorney with offices in Media,
Pennsylvania. He was appoined as the first Master in Custody for
children by the Board of Judges. He now uses those skill to advise and
counsel small and family owned businesses.
