Creek Road Gang is the new monthly magazine of autobiographical writing and memoir, featuring prose, poetry and picture. We intend to surprise you, delight you, make you laugh or make you cry, maybe all of the above.
"Reality TV" is giving reality a bad name. We started Creek Road Gang to share stories, real stories, that are worth passing to others. Think of those times when you sit around reminiscing with family members and old friends. Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry, and sometimes you're just plain inspired! That's our kind of mix. Stories, say, about families who loved each other and maybe sometimes even drove each other to distraction, stories of people who made friends, grew up, fell in love, or didn't, had families, or didn't, mourned the loss of loved ones, struggled, set goals, worked toward them, laughed, and cried, and told those stories to others.
Ordinary stuff?
Not at all. Those themes weave the fabric of our lives and of our literature. They light the way for those who come after. They give us encouragement, hope, strength, joy, tears. They are our shared heritage.
Some of the best times we have involve remembering our shared stories, telling them, and making more.
